Evening on the Waterfront

Woah, it's unusually hot in Seattle this week! Definitely hot for Seattle - it's actually supposed to hit 100 F today.

The waterfront downtown has a nice breeze and is a lot cooler than the rest of the immediate area. Just one more reason to love the ocean. It's also really pretty and peaceful in the sunset.

Seattle boats

Boats glowing in the sunset. What could be better, besides living on a boat yourself?

Gasworks Park, Summer Sunset

Gasworks Park can gather a lot of people in the summer, especially around sunset if the weather is nice. It's pretty cool -- all the people there to look at the beauty, maybe cuddle on a blanket, and spend some time together.

Another Sunset

Somehow the colors look far more vibrant in the originals of the last few photos, but still .. there are some mighty impressive skies around Aspen. And to think I almost didn't take the camera with me when I went back to the hotel tonight (which is when I saw this sunset, over the same golf pond as the previous sunset).

Aspen Sunset

I came around a corner and saw the sun going down in a big purple haze. It was incredible and I tried to get it on the camera (aka, I flung myself down on a big rock for stability and took a bunch of photos). The moment was bigger in person.

Windstorm

Last night, just before sunset, a windstorm blew into town. Dust swirled at the dog park, big fat raindrops felt imminent. I walked through the park with Jackson while people ran the other way back to their cars.

The rain never showed up but the temperature is at least 10 degrees cooler today than yesterday.

Breathe ..

Tax software sucks. Canadian tax software sucks even harder.
Trying to regain some sense of calmness, like the ship canal here.

Discovery Park Sunset

Seattle really teaches you to appreciate the moment, with amazing beautiful weather that sweeps in .. and then back out again. Perhaps it's something like painting pictures with colored sand.

Relax

Peacefully enfolded in warmth.
Sun hovering on the edge of the sky.
Breathe deep, listen to the dusk.
Ready to face winter again? :)

Sunset

The days are getting shorter. I'm not sure if that's what I dislike most about winter, or if it's the wet and coldness. Still, I don't feel any urge to live in Tucson, so it can't be that bad.
