Charming Waterfall

Far below and to my left was a river, rumbling along with rapids (Class IV), but to my right and level with the trail was this lovely little pool. Water dripped off the rock as it must have done for years and years, smoothing the rock wall and eroding little pockets in the stone. I was completely charmed.

Bonus Sunday Mountains

From the top of Aspen Mountain, where I was just last Sunday.

Red, White, and Blue

Okay, so this is a bit late for the fourth of July. But these flags flying at the top of Aspen Mountain on July 5th were really pretty with the mountains in the background, almost like prayer flags.

Purple flowers

It was raining earlier, and everything was gloomy. When I finally decided I should just go for something dark, the rain stopped and colors bounded out.

Tops of Mountains

The cloud drift across the sky, casting shadows.

Another Sunset

Somehow the colors look far more vibrant in the originals of the last few photos, but still .. there are some mighty impressive skies around Aspen. And to think I almost didn't take the camera with me when I went back to the hotel tonight (which is when I saw this sunset, over the same golf pond as the previous sunset).
