Maroon Bells

The lake at Maroon Bells, with the mountain peaks in the background.
Great day for a hike and I took lots of photos. Is it possible to take too many?

Aspen Sunset

I came around a corner and saw the sun going down in a big purple haze. It was incredible and I tried to get it on the camera (aka, I flung myself down on a big rock for stability and took a bunch of photos). The moment was bigger in person.

Solstice

I love the long days of summer in Seattle. Light by 6am, dark after 9pm. The solstice parade and Fremont Fair are a great way to celebrate the long days, and maybe make it a little easier to face the fact that now the days are going to get shorter again to midwinter.

Silver Queen

I'm a sucker for pretty painted murals, even old fading ones, and especially on red brick.

Margarita time

Oh, almost forgot - it's haiku thursday.

Green lime, sweet salsa
Add a little tequila
Makes a happy girl.

After hours rides

After hours at the amusement park that isn't open very often anyway.

Windstorm

Last night, just before sunset, a windstorm blew into town. Dust swirled at the dog park, big fat raindrops felt imminent. I walked through the park with Jackson while people ran the other way back to their cars.

The rain never showed up but the temperature is at least 10 degrees cooler today than yesterday.

Standing Roots

Also in Austin, under one of the bridges.
Looks a little like a fort, I think.

I forgot how much mosquitos like to suck my blood.

Austin 1

There are many kinds of food you can get in Seattle. TexMex is not one of them. So, now I have to convince Alex that he should make chile con queso. Using velveeta is the trick, apparently.
